IMCO signs global partnership to develop smart engine-management system for armored vehicles

The Israeli defense-tech group will co-develop a real-time engine diagnostics and control suite with a global power-train supplier, enhancing efficiency and reliability in next-generation armored vehicles

IMCO announced that it has entered a global cooperation agreement with one of the world’s top providers of propulsion systems for armored platforms. The partnership will strengthen IMCO’s position as a preferred technology partner for international integrators in the land-systems market.

Under the agreement, IMCO will develop the Engine Diagnostic and Sensor Suite (EDSS) — an intelligent sensor and control system to be integrated into the engines of armored vehicles and marketed by the power-train manufacturer to its customers worldwide. The system will provide real-time monitoring of engine performance, apply automatic adjustments, and improve efficiency, power output, and service life. It is also expected to reduce failures, minimize routine maintenance, and extend overhaul intervals.

The EDSS forms part of IMCO’s broader Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS), which tracks vehicle condition in real time and provides predictive-maintenance capabilities to enhance operational availability and safety.

“This collaboration is another strong vote of confidence in IMCO’s technology and development capabilities,” said Ariel Kandel, CEO of IMCO Group. “As part of our global growth strategy, we continue to expand partnerships with leading defense industries worldwide and to deliver mission-critical solutions for advanced operations.”

IMCO Group develops and manufactures advanced systems and subsystems for the defense and industrial sectors. The company operates in Israel, the United States, and Romania through subsidiaries specializing in R&D, manufacturing, and systems integration.
