HP Inc. announced the a new corporate venture capital arm, very close the Intel Capital mission. The newly formed fund, under the name HP Tech Ventures will start its operation in the US and Israel. The fund is operated by two teams, one in Palo Alto California, and the other in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

It will focus on strategic investments and establish cooperation in disruptive technologies such as 3D printing, virtual reality, hyper-mobility, IoT, artificial intelligence and smart machines. HP Tech Ventures office in tel aviv will be led by Irit Hilel, a former senior executive at Magnolia Capital with an accumulated experience of over 18 years in the field of venture capital.

“The next technology revolution is shifting towards markets that speak to HP’s strengths” said HP CTO ,Shane Wall. “HP can help startups companies bring their product to market, build their business, and scale in the global marketplace as they grow”.

Besides capital investment, the new fund will provide its startups with additional support – by using HP’s strategic partners and connections in development, manufacturing and distribution. The fund will strive to build a strategic relationship with the venture capital community in order to develop an ecosystem if ingenuity. HP executive Andrew Bolwell will lead the new investment arm, which will report to Shane Wall, HP’s chief technology officer and head of the company’s research arm, HP Labs.
