Amphenol acquires its local distibutor Tel-Ad

Techtime News has learned that Tel-Ad will continue its operation from the town of Kfar-saba, under the ownership of Amphenol

Amphenol, one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world, signed lately an agreement to acquire its local distributor in Israel, Tel-Ad Electronics. The terms of the deal are still indisclosed.

Techtime News has learned that Tel-Ad will continue its operation from the town of Kfar-saba, under the ownership of Amphenol. Beside representing Amphenol, Tel-Ad represent in Israel other connectors, cables and interconnect vandors. I also offers services and products, including cable production, connectors, turn-key projects, electromechanical design and communication products. The company holds a production floor to produce and integrate interconnect solution for the local industry, with about 200 employees.

The US based Amphenol designs, manufactures and markets electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors, coaxial and flat-ribbon cable, and interconnect systems. The comoany employs about 45,000 workers in 85 production plants globally distributed.

It is believed that Amphenol holss a strong position in the Israeli electronics market, and is considered a major supplier for the local defense industry. Tel-Ad CEO, Shlomi Schultz, declined to give more details about the merger agreement.
