The British leading telecommunication provider has chosen Israeli INFINIDAT’s InfiniBox as Part of Its Next-Generation Infrastructure1

INFINIDAT is an Israeli provider of enterprise data storage solutions, today announced that BT (British Telecommunications PLC), a gloabal communications services company based in Britain, has selected the InfiniBox enterprise data storage system to provide storage for their next-generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform.

BT hopes to consolidate and minimize the footprint of the virtualization platform, lower power consumption to meet environmental goals, ease management by moving storage administration to operations teams, and expand storage capacity as needed.

During the Proof of Concept (PoC) process, the BT Technology, Service and Operations (TSO) team tested InfiniBox against numerous other storage solutions on the market, focusing primarily on usability, functionality, performance and hypervisor integration.

“The InfiniBox offered a straightforward and intuitive interface with performance on par or better than other products tested,” said Anne Fisher, Storage Architect at BT. “We were particularly impressed with Host PowerTools and InfiniMetrics, INFINIDAT’s storage management tools.”

“This win is a significant achievement, not only because BT is a high profile customer, but because we were selected as part of a very competitive assessment process,” said Jasper Gundy White, UK Country Manager at INFINIDAT. “Our successful PoC proved InfiniBox does what we say it can do. We delivered ground-breaking performance, along with a flexible approach and the ease of use BT required.”
