Camtek grows with its market

Reports record full year revenues of $110 million, up 10% year-over-year. CEO Rafi Amit expects continued growth into 2017, driven by Semiconductor trends
Camtek Ltd. (NASDAQ: CAMT), announced record financial results for Q4 and full year 2016. Revenues of of the fourth quarter were $29.3 million, 14% year over year increase. The first quarter revenue guidance at around, or possibly slightly better than, the fourth quarter levels, represents approximately 20% year-over-year growth.
Camtek marked revenues of $109.5 million for the full year 2016, representing a 10% year over year increase compares to the revenues of $99.3 million in 2015. Semiconductor revenues of $79.0 million; 16% year over year increase. Camtek’s Chairman and CEO, Rafi Amit, said: “Our ongoing performance is being driven primarily by strong performance of our semiconductor business and in particular by systems for the advanced packaging market. ”
Double-digit growth of semiconductor business
“All signs point to another year of solid growth for Camtek, driven by continued double-digit growth of our semiconductor business. The first quarter, which includes the Chinese New Year, is typically the weakest one of the year. However, this year, we expect a strong first quarter with revenues at around, or possibly slightly better than, the fourth quarter levels, representing year-over-year growth of 20%.”
Camtek Ltd. provides automated and technologically advanced solutions dedicated to enhancing production processes, increasing products yield and reliability, enabling and supporting customers’ latest technologies in the Semiconductors, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and IC Substrates industries.
During the conference call, Amit said (transcripted by Seeking Alpha) the company grows with its market. “Camtek’s semiconductors growth trend is due in part to the market segments we serve, which are growing well ahead of the general market. These segments include: advanced packaging, MEMS, RF and CMOS Image Sensors. We see strength in all of the segments we operate. The advanced packaging is strong, but the CMOS image sensor is very strong especially to the fact that are now three high end cameras in each of the phones coming out. The average market is very strong due to the good mobile market. So, overall, all of our customers and in all of the segments are very strong.”
