flex to Open a New Production Facility in Israel

Flex Ltd. is planning to build a new production facility in Modiin, near Tel-Aviv. The 30,500 square meters production plant will employ approximately 1,000 employees. About 800 employees will be transferred from older flex plant in Yavne,  a small town south of Te-Aviv. The move is part of the growing activity of flex in Israel. Today, flex is the biggest Electronics Manufacturing Services provider in Israel. It operates three production sites: Migdal Haemeq in the Galilae, Yavne and in Ofaqim, a small town in the south of Israel. In addition, it has a research and development center in Haifa, specialized in optics and Medical Devices design. Totally, it employs about 4,000 employees in Israel.

With approximately 200,000 professionals across 30 countries, Flex provides innovative design, engineering, manufacturing, real-time supply chain insight and logistics services to companies of all sizes in various industries and end-markets. Its sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017 were $23.9 billion. The Company’s two higher margin business groups, High Reliability Solutions (HRS) and Industrial & Emerging Industries (IEI), combined were $9.1 billion or 38% of net sales in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017, a $537 million increase from a year ago. The company has market cap of $9.50 billion in NASDAQ.
