AudioCodes Takes Microsoft Hackathon Honors

Built in four days with Microsoft engineers, the solution is set to join AudioCodes’ Live platform as the company expands its cloud and AI business

Israel-based AudioCodes won first place in the Data Driven Impact category among projects developed in Israel at Microsoft’s Global Hackathon. Built jointly by engineers from both companies in just four days, the winning solution can process billions of events a day, turning vast volumes of data into real-time business insights. It is expected to be integrated into AudioCodes’ Live cloud platform.

Microsoft’s Global Hackathon is one of the world’s largest internal corporate innovation events. Held annually since 2014 through Microsoft’s innovation program, The Garage, it gives employees an opportunity to develop prototypes and explore technologies beyond their day-to-day work. In 2025, approximately 73,000 people participated across more than 80 locations worldwide. This year’s Israeli event took place September 6–9 at Microsoft’s Herzliya campus.

AudioCodes participated through the Hack with Customers track, which pairs Microsoft teams with customers to address real-world business and technology challenges. Its project won in Data Driven Impact, a category focused on using data technologies to deliver measurable business value. Entries were assessed on criteria including innovation, feasibility and how effectively they addressed a business need.

The project centered on AudioCodes’ Live Platform, a cloud platform for managing enterprise voice and communications services across Microsoft Teams, Webex Calling and Zoom Phone environments. Its offerings span communications services, contact centers, call recording and AI applications for analyzing interactions.

These systems generate a continuous stream of operational data covering service performance, communications quality and usage. The hackathon solution was designed to collect and process that information at massive scale, giving customers an up-to-date view of their operations. The aim is to help them identify trends, significant events and operational issues, and make decisions using real-time data. AudioCodes did not disclose which data-processing technologies the team used or when the solution would become commercially available within the platform.

The award comes as AudioCodes broadens its business beyond its traditional focus. Founded in 1993, the company spent decades specializing in voice infrastructure and enterprise communications. In recent years, it has expanded into cloud services and Voice AI, including autonomous voice agents, tools that assist customer service representatives and AI-powered conversation analytics.

In the second quarter of 2026, AudioCodes’ Conversational AI business grew by more than 50% year over year. Annual recurring revenue from its Live and Conversational AI services reached $84 million, up 20% from a year earlier.

AudioCodes Chief Technology Officer Ran Inbar said the real test was whether AI delivered measurable business value. The company’s goal, he said, is to turn enormous volumes of information and real-time events into insights customers can understand and act on.
