The modules are aligned with the latest DECT ULE and upper layer protocol standard drafts

DSP Group (Nasdaq:DSPG) and LS Research (LSR) have jointly developed a DECT Ultra Low Energy (ULE) system on module for Home Control, home automation, healthcare, and other vertical markets.

DSP Group provided the semiconductor system, consisting of a DECT ULE module powered by DSP Group’s DECT baseband IC and a full DECT ULE stack. The modules are aligned with the latest DECT ULE and upper layer protocol standard drafts. LSR’s production-ready design enables fast time to market, and minimizes the R&D effort required for the integration.

“DECT ULE-integrated systems on module as an excellent vehicle to allow OEM’s to bring advanced home automation and security systems to the market,” said Jan Abelev, Corporate Vice President of Product Management at DSP Group.

LSR provides turnkey M2M System Solutions with Design Services, on-site Testing and Certification, and RF modules. DSP Group is a provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications and delivers semiconductor system solutions with software and reference designs. Its revenues for the fourth quarter of 2012 were $38.4 million an increase of 1% from the fourth quarter of 2011. Revenues for the year ended December 31, 2012 were $162.8 million, a decrease of 16% over 2011 revenues. Net loss for 2012 was $8 million, compared to a net loss of$16.2 million for 2011.
